Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:
Monitor and anticipate workload demands by keeping a continuous pulse on active projects, upcoming timelines, and team capacity
Proactively identify and target new commercial bid opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals, filling gaps in the project schedule and maintaining a steady pipeline
Prepare construction estimates based on engineering designs, drawings, site visits, contractual agreements and associated materials
Collect and correlate necessary project-related cost and schedule data needed to determine equipment, material, subcontract, construction labor, expenses, engineering, taxes
Consult with vendors, personnel in other departments, managers, and engineers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Review material and labor requirements to recommend whether it is cost effective to bid prevailing wage projects
Complete project submittal process, communicate to field team, and order associated materials
Facilitate proposal letters for estimates done by field technicians
Prepare computer cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; plus five-years related experience and/or training. May have a four-year college degree (BA), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five-year’s experience in the commercial construction and electrical industries, commercial estimating practices and bid day activities, preferred
Must have a solid overarching competence of scope definition, quotation analysis, bid leveling and unit pricing for all specifications with an emphasis on general construction conditions and overall bid assembly and submittal
Must possess strong organizational, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills, have the ability to work hands-on and independently, as part of the team
Information technology and use of information systems
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Must be very strong and quick on excel and estimating tools typical to the industry.
Must be able to relate these skills direct to estimates, constructability and field efficiencies to result in low and competitive bids
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
