Schaper Associates Inc. was founded in 2001 by Karen Schaper. She started Schaper Associates with 14 years’ experience as a recruiter, trainer, manager and co-owner in the recruiting business. Her passion is to help companies find Top Talent in the marketplace, so they can grow their businesses, and effectively assist candidates in managing their careers to take it to the next level. She realizes their careers are most likely their biggest asset in life, so she created a team of recruiting professionals that have the same philosophy.

Prior to 1987 she attended Kean College and received her Bachelor's Degree from Kean College in Physical Therapy. Karen worked as a physical therapist from 1986-1994. After she joined Dow Tech, she continued to work part time as a physical therapist.
In her spare time Karen enjoys being with her family and spending time with them. She also enjoys motivational and inspirational stories and quotes. She loves to be inspired by others and their passions. Recently, Karen has also been interested in natural healing remedies and what they can do for your overall health.

Walt Brod joined Schaper Associates in 2003, bringing 40+ years of executive recruiting experience with him. He is the Vice President, and with that he has brought knowledge and a great sense of humor to the Schaper Associate's team. Prior to Schaper Associates, Walt lived in London and worked at MSI International as a general manager before transferring back to Washington, DC to continue running the branch. Walt is an alumni of St. Joseph's University, a Veteran, a pilot, and a great asset to our team. Walt also enjoys flying planes in his free time.

Robert Byrnes joined Schaper Associates in January 2010 as an Account Manager and Recruiter to continue his career to provide search and placement solutions to the HVAC, Energy Services and Building Automation industries nationwide. He pursued the career of recruiting in 1997 and brings much knowledge and experience to the team. He has built a large network of professionals in the industry and is committed to finding the best fit for each position. Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons whenever he gets the chance to, as well.

Kyle Schaper began his career as a researcher for Schaper Associates in 2011. Prior to his experience sourcing top talent in the HVAC and Energy Services industries, he gained the skills within the industry which allow him to better understand our clients and job seekers. Kyle is EPA certified, has a 30 hour OSHA license, and took courses focused on heat pumps, residential equipment, and wiring. Kyle was promoted to a Recruiter in 2012 and has expanded his network with hiring managers and business owners. He has the key foundations both in the industry and as a recruiter to seek out the top talent in the industry, even if they are not actively looking. He enjoys doing outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, golfing, and farming.

Kristen Schaper currently works with Schaper Associates part time as an office assistant, so she can pursue her career in nursing. Kristen brings a positive attitude and contributes to the office in any way she can, usually by completing tasks such as filing, organizing, assisting with any large assignments, and occasionally researching. When Kristen is not in the office, she is attending East Coast Polytechnic Institute University for Nursing, shopping at local produce stands to create her own farm to table recipes and playing with her dog Petee. Adding to her many talents, she also has attended cosmetology school and became a certified esthetician, before realizing her true passion of nursing.

Jeff Kiely joined Schaper Associates Inc. in May of 2019 as a Senior Full Desk Account Executive. Jeff’s responsibilities include helping organizations find quality, profitable, candidates and coaching individuals in career planning and profitability. Jeff is an alumnus of Shippensburg University. During his free time Jeff enjoys working out, watching and playing sports, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family.
