Title: Manager, Plumbing & Fire Suppression Services
Company Description:A major energy supplier that provides a broad range of energy products and services in the New York area and beyond seeks a positive, goal oriented Manager, Plumbing & Fire Suppression Services.
Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:
Perform mandated field inspections under NYC Local Law 152, evaluating gas piping systems for code compliance, safety, and regulatory adherence
Work with staff to schedule, manage, and perform required NYC gas inspections, including preparation and submission of filings, obtaining gas authorizations, and securing final signoffs from the NYC DOB and relevant authorities
Perform gas leak surveys and detection using approved testing methods and equipment
Respond to gas shutdown emergencies, evaluate conditions requiring correction and develop a proposal for the necessary work
Coordinate with the utility company and NYC DOB as required to facilitate the restoration of gas service
Assist in training other employees to perform and support the gas-related work described herein, with the goal of developing the skills and knowledge necessary to independently perform such work in the future
Manage and oversee fire suppression division including piping installation, repair and maintenance projects Coordinate and execute full-service system projects including new installations, system upgrades, repairs and maintenance
Coordinate inspections, approvals, and regulatory compliance with NYC DEP, DOB and FDNY
Oversee gas and fire suppression job progress from planning through completion, ensuring timely completion and regulatory compliance
Review architectural plans and specifications; coordinate with project teams and subcontractors
Manage client relationships, project planning, material procurement and quality control

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Clean Driver’s License
NYC DOB Fire Suppression License, Class B preferred
NYC DOB Journeyman Plumber
NYC DOB Fire Suppression Piping Installer
NYC DOB Filing Representative – Class 1
NYS Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester
FDNY Citywide Sprinkler Systems CAT S12
US DOT Operator Qualification Tas 86 / 87 /87A
OSHA 62Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
Sit, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and squat for prolonged periods of time and/or repeatedly over a required period
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
Ability to climb 36-to-72-inch ladder or scaffold
Constantly work in severe outdoor weather conditions, with exposure to oil and/or fumes and the elements
Reach with and work with hands and arms overhead
Identify and avoid hazardous waste including Asbestos hazards
Ability to work while wearing a face mask, safety goggles and any other required PPE
