The Role:
The Electrical Engineer will perform a key role in the design and installation of engineered solutions for commercial clients.
Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:
Work in house with licensed Architects and Engineers as well as the Project Managers and Superintendents who will be building your vision
Attend project meetings
Specification selection and implementation
Materials selections
Submittal / shop drawing review – recognize cross-discipline coordination requirements
RFI response – appropriate type and tone, recognize broader implication / coordination issues
Assist with project closeout manual and as-built plans
Correspondence required with Project Team
Incorporate field best practice standards
Visit job sites on a regular basis to understand how the pieces come together in real world applications
Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps
Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
Estimate material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation
Location: Newtown, CT
Qualifications:
Connecticut Professional Engineer (PE) license
A minimum of 5 years of solid industry experience
Excellent working knowledge of MEP codes and practices
Working knowledge of Auto CAD, Revit would be a bonus
Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering
Proficient in design and calculation software
