Position Title: Controls Technician
Company Description: A global leader in building automation systems that designs and develops intuitive, intelligent, complete controls and interfaces to help drive smart decisions that optimize building performance seeks a Controls Technician in New Haven County, CT.
Principal Responsibilities:
Possess good technical competence on all Building Systems and the ability to resolve or guide others through complex problem resolution. Customer interaction is in-depth and proactive to include a complete understanding of systems and the foresight to recommend and plan for enhancements.
Essential Functions:

Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize pneumatic/electrical /electronic technology
Provide solutions to complex systems problems either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems. Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation
Complete all required commissioning documentation. Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required.
Complete paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports
Responsible for total system operation from controllers to sensors, loading software, interfacing with third party systems. Set up trends, alarms and reports and works with customer IT personnel, etc. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer
Perform static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming
Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system
Responsible for set up of operator workstations with all associated software
Assist with project turnover to the Service Department

Location: New Haven County, CT
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Able to create, download, and troubleshoot complex HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software
Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting
Must be well organized with good time management skills. This position requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment
Able to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints
Thorough experience with Microsoft software products to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required
Possess an excellent understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences
Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain their laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARC Net communications
Requires passion and dedication to providing the customer with innovative and superior building automation systems and outstanding customer service
Strong background in mechanical and HVAC system operation and design

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience in the HVAC controls industry
Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with: WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works

Physical Qualifications:

Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs
