Title:  Project Manager for Controls


Company Description:

Our client  is well established company in the Long Island area and has the expertise to design, install and service HVAC systems and controls, lighting controls, security systems and various industrial controls.

They have the ability to integrate all of their clients building’s controls and security functions into a single workstation. Automated programs allows systems to operate automatically, as programmed, with no operator. Our client has been in business since the 1970's and has been a major player in the controls industry ever since.

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to: 

  • Acts as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects. Develops project schedules and executes according to plan for assigned projects.

  • Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and / or scheduling changes. Actively pursues additional work through change orders. Performs associated cost estimates, prepares proposals and negotiates final settlement price and customer acceptance.

  • Experience with working in the NYC market with permit regulations etc.

  • Manages costs. Completes project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow.

  • Reviews and interprets contract Terms and Conditions.

  • Effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to management as required.

  • Negotiates, prepares and issues subcontracts.

  • Ensures project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements.

  • Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques.

  • Manages ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.

  • Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors. Attends job progress meetings as required. Ensures subcontractors understand expectations of the project.

  • Coordinates customer-training requirements.

  • Ability to have own transportation as needed and ability to pass a background check including clean driving record

 Location:   Company is Long Island based, however this position will be potentially covering projects located in any of the five boroughs.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • HVAC systems and controls (5 years + of DDC Controls experience with understanding of integrating them into HVAC and other equipment
  • Experience with Andover Controls / Schneider Electric product knowledge a plus but
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

  • BSME or BSEE
