Title: Commissioning Project Manager

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:

  • Develop and maintain company commissioning standard, organize files in one central location and keep track of revisions
  • Prepare project task and deliverable list in harmony with company contract requirements
  • Prepare financial estimates of time and expenses associated with each job
  • Prepare commissioning documents consistent with company and industry standards
  • Attend and bring value to mandatory meetings including weekly energy projects meetings, and project meetings on site or via conference call
  • Perform site observations during construction to observe equipment installations as required by contract
  • Write and review proposals, attend potential client meetings as necessary
  • Be the face of the company with any clients or potential clients requiring commissioning services
  • Establish standards and procedures for energy/ commissioning projects
  • Review deliverables or assign appropriate personnel to review
  • Establish procedures for executing energy/commissioning projects
  • Visit site to witness execution of FPT (CxA not to operate equipment) provide updated issues log and field report within one week of site visit
  • Determine project responsivities by identifying project phases/deliverables and assigning personnel to project -specific tasks in order to meet the deliverables
  • Communicate project stats and staffing needs to Energy Director
  • Identify and manage sub consultants as needed
  • Ensure proper project close out
  • Meet the allocated hours for each task/phase/project
  • Maintain up to date list of commission projects including contact value, billed fee, hours logged, expenses incurred, estimated dates of major actives, expected completion
  • Maintain an organized commission project "notebook" containing all pertinent information, forms and documentation

Location: Arlington, VA


  • Capable of obtaining federal security clearance
  • Hold an engineering degree (mechanical, architectural, ISAT, building science, physics)
  • Minimum 1 years of building related experience and commissioning experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems (HVAC controls, envelope, lighting), knowledge of building codes and ASHRAE 90.1
  • Proficient writing and verbal skills, able to communicate with clients and coworkers effectively
  • Be a CxA, QCxP qualified
  • Proficient in Trane TRACE 700 or request
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
